REV UP Virginia celebrated Disability Voting Rights Week 2025 (September 8–12) with seven events around the Commonwealth. Many of the events focused on voter registration and education. We engaged with a variety of voters, including college students, with and without disabilities. Nine localities issued proclamations recognizing Disability Voting Rights Week. One locality issued a Letter of Recognition. A complete list is below.
In addition, REV UP Virginia co-hosted the 2025 Statewide Candidate Forum on Disability Issues, along with The Arc of Virginia, The Arc of Northern Virginia, and the Autism Society of Northern Virginia. Read more about the forum.
Disability Voting Rights Week is about advocacy, celebrating community, and building power. It is a nonpartisan movement hosted by the American Association of People with Disabilities, its national REV UP Voting Campaign, and its state REV UP coalitions, such as REV UP Virginia.
