Are you voting by mail? If you haven’t received your ballot yet, contact your local registrar immediately!
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is experiencing many problems with mail-in, or absentee, ballots. The League of Women Voters of Virginia has alerted REV UP Virginia to this issue, which has been confirmed by the Commissioner for the Virginia Department of Elections.
The League of Women Voters of Virginia has provided suggestions for returning your completed mail-in (absentee) ballot, to ensure that it gets received and counted:
- Take your ballot inside the post office and request that it be postmarked
- Do not place it in a blue mail box
- Take it to a ballot collection drop box. To locate the closest drop box to you, use the Virginia Voter Drop Box Locations tool, provided by the League of Women Voters of Virginia. This tool works on computers and phones, but not on an iPad.
- Take it to your voting location, or polling place, on Election Day.
